Regional Sales Manager

A Regional Sales Manager’s primary directive is to increase sales & maximize sales team performance within assigned territory.

A Regional Sales Manager – along with their staff – builds strong relationships with local & regional designers, architects, developers, & business owners to promote & sell Jones Sign Company’s offerings including: signage, service, & new products as developed.

A Regional Sales Manager is critical to the success & support of National Business Development plans & will be heavily focused on prospecting for new business & staff.

A Regional Sales Manager may also do some of their own personal sales.

  • Organizes & Generates a Branch Sales Plan
  • Solicits & Hires New Reps as Required to Meet Sales Expectations Through a Consultative Process
  • Trains New Reps in the Selling Disciplines, Skills, & Behaviors Required for Success
  • Analyzes Sales Representative Performance on a Daily/Weekly/Monthly Basis
  • Works with Management & Project Management to Maximize Efficiencies & Continue to Improve Selling Effectiveness
  • Designs, Implements, & Manages Lead Tracking Systems by Product, Markets & Representative
  • Develops Agendas for & Moderates the Weekly Sales Meetings
  • Coordinates, with the Sales/Marketing Team, Specific Selling Strategies, Including Team Sales Presentations to Customers
  • Develops Support & Tracking Systems in Conjunction with VP of Sales to Manage Sales Representatives & Regional Sales Goals
  • Resolves Individual Staff & Regional Performance Issues as Necessary
  • Oversees Training of New Sales Reps & Ongoing Training of Entire Sales Staff. This Includes Both Product & Sales Skills Training. Where Possible, Involve Staff Members & Outside Vendors as Trainers to Spread Knowledge Efficiently & Effectively
  • Develops Direct Mailing & Telemarketing Programs
  • Works with VP of Sales on Managerial Objectives & Budgets
  • Maintains a Professional Demeanor & Appearance Along With a Positive Attitude at all Times
  • Has a Working Knowledge of Sign Design, Construction & Engineering as well as General Building Construction
  • Is Proficient with Negotiation & Solution-Based Selling Process
  • Can Parse Contractual Terms & Obligations
  • Must Possess Excellent Oral, Written, & Interpersonal Skill and the Ability to Build Rapport & Relationships
  • Is Highly Organized, Disciplined, & a Self-Starter
  • Can Claim a Working Knowledge of the Practices & Procedures Involved with Project Management
  • Has Cultivated an Above Average Knowledge of Computerized Systems & Programs Such as Excel, Word, Gmail & ERPSystems
  • Has a Minimum of 5 Years Experience in the Sign & or Construction Industry
  • Can Communicate Clearly, Concisely, & Effectively with Peers, Supervisors, & Clients
  • Possesses Good Organizational, Planning & Problem Solving Skills
  • Commit to Following Through with Processes in an Effort to Meet Company & Client Commitments
  • Develop & Maintain Habits of Complete & Consistent Documentation of Events, Work Status, & Correspondence
  • Can Cultivate & Promote a Team Environment
