Production Manager

Our Production Manager is a key member of our company & is responsible for coordinating production processes via supervision of assigned employees. Our Production Manager leads a team in a manufacturing company where signs are engineered to specification. Daily challenges include coordinating staff, prioritizing work, delegating assignments, training new staff, & ensuring work orders are completed as scheduled.

Work conditions consist of a manufacturing plant environment with standing, bending, & twisting 90% of the day. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs on a regular basis.

Work hours are from 6:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. Monday through Thursday & 6:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. on Friday. The nature of the position will require the Staff to work the necessary hours to successfully complete the job & overall goals of Jones Sign. Overtime will be required.

  • Daily Scheduling of Departmental Jobs
  • Plans Job Execution with Operations Team by Directing & Leading a Team of Hourly Staff
  • Comprehends Work Orders, Shop Drawings, Bills of Material, & Job Narratives - then Clearly Communicates this Information to Staff
  • Gains Commitments by Reviewing Hourly Expectations of what is Required to be Fabricated or Aassembled Each Day
  • Manages Estimated vs. Actual Hours
  • Controls Departmental Inventory of Products on Shop Floor
  • Works to Reduce Departmental Rework
  • Evaluates Fabrication Methods for Maximum Efficiency
  • Interacts with Operations Manager to Assure Clear Communication & Maximum Job Throughput
  • Promotes Team Concept with Fabrication Department to Problem Solve & Increase Efficiency
  • Manages Saff to Ensure Performance to Expectations
  • Is Visible & Accessible on Shop Floor Every Day to Field Staff Questions & Monitor Job Progress
  • Hires & Trains Staff
  • Completes Annual Performance Reviews & Disciplinary Action as Needed
  • Completes any Other Work Assigned by Operations Manager
  • At Least 5 Years Supervisory Experience
  • Production experience in Digital Graphics, a Custom Workshop, or Manufacturing Facility
  • An Educational Background in Management, Business, or a Technical Field
  • Is Proficient with Microsoft Office Products or Google Apps
  • The Ability to Communicate Effectively in Conversation & Writing
  • The Ability to Train & Lead
